2 October: officials learn the game

At the pre-championship programme, the organisers introduced the officiating officials to Kho Kho. The instructors walked them through the field measurements, how the game is played, common fouls and how points are awarded. A good number of officials and games masters from different institutions left interested in joining the sport in different technical roles.

3 October: the first court goes down

With help from the sports master at Nyamitanga, the team found space and marked out a court. The host school's athletes joined, first for basic theory and then for practice. Nyamitanga girls came to learn the game after watching the boys enjoy it, and the hosts asked to pioneer its demonstration at the championship.

4 October: a permanent court at Kakyeka Stadium

5 October: the official demonstration

The Nyamitanga boys' team presented Kho Kho officially in front of invited guests, the Commissioner for Physical Education and Sports, sports tutors, and students from technical institutes across the country. The demonstration was fast and entertaining. The Commissioner recommended Kho Kho as a way to promote physical education and urged institutes to welcome the sport.

Kho Kho Uganda registered a national milestone at the TVET SAU Championships after a successful demonstration of the sport.

7 October onwards: groundwork with coaches

Once the main tournament began, students were busy with their own disciplines, so the instructors spoke to coaches, games masters and sports instructors one by one and collected their contacts to follow up on introducing Kho Kho in their institutes. The public address system was used throughout at Nyamitanga and Kakyeka to keep telling visitors about the game.
